What Are They Up to Now?

Welcome to our lifestyle blog, “Lacey Oaks – What are they up to now?”. Our blog centers on finding inspiration and having fun with gardening, travel, food (recipes and restaurants), home decorating, home-diy, and whatever else we find interesting!

Lacey Oaks lifestyle blog is written by two ladies that are best friends. In addition to the items mentioned above, we also both enjoy photography, hiking/nature, rock hunting, HGTV Fixer Upper, and anything new & exciting. One of us is also learning to paint with watercolor.

We are both Christians with a strong faith and love for Jesus. When you live life with God guiding you, it is not only less scary, but can be an immense amount of fun. God has a great sense of humor and wants us to have a joyful outlook everyday.

When we were first out of college, our co-workers and us loved to dream about what we would do if we won the lottery. I truly thought that I would keep working because I couldn’t imagine life without my job. As life progressed my new plan for lottery winnings was to have homes all over the world and travel internationally. Several years down the road, my lottery dream changed to having a winter home and a summer home in the US with lots of travel. A few years after that, I decided a herb farm with a photography career would be fun. My most recent thoughts on spending lottery winnings, are to have enough time to enjoy life and to look for the simpler lifestyle.

Although neither of won the lottery (we didn’t even buy tickets), God has blessed us with the opportunity to quit working. Both of us recently left our jobs and started new chapters in our lives. We used to wonder what in the world we would do with all the spare time if we weren’t working. Once we stopped work and made it through the ‘oh no, what have I done?’ phase, we begin to truly enjoy what life has to offer. There is always something new & fun to try. The title of the blog says it all, ‘What are they up to now?’. Each day is a blessing from God and brings a new opportunity to have fun and enjoy the world that God has given us.
